Outside the Office
Brett’s biggest responsibility and hobby is raising his two young boys, ages 1 and 4, and spending as much time with them as he possibly can. If Brett has any free time, he enjoys playing golf, fishing, reading, working out, and attending LSU sporting events.

Brett Sandifer manages Smith Sconzert’s Baton Rouge office. His practice consists primarily of personal injury defense, premise liability, commercial litigation and municipal law.
Brett has extensive jury trial experience and has worked in healthcare law, representing home health, hospice and inpatient facilities. His experience also includes legislation drafting, public-private partnership negotiation, criminal prosecution and general insurance defense matters.
Prior to joining Smith Sconzert, Brett practiced in multiple capacities across Louisiana, some of which include Attorney for the Louisiana Office of the Lieutenant Governor, General Counsel for a regional health care company, In-House Counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Assistant Attorney General for the Louisiana Office of the Attorney General and its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, Assistant District Attorney for Calcasieu Parish and as a solo practitioner.
In addition to his practice at Smith Sconzert, Brett is an active member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and enjoys volunteering for its Pro Bono Project and being a member, and former chairman, of the Pro Bono Committee.
