Elizabeth shares her life with her husband of nearly twenty years, embraces the joy of raising two (very) opinionated daughters and attempts to find balance while owning and teaching at a boutique yoga studio. A writer at heart, she loves to explore new places — whether near or far — and connect with the many personalities she meets a long the way.

Smith Sconzert, LLC founding partner, Elizabeth Sconzert, brings more than 20 years of litigation experience to the firm. She knows the importance of listening and the power of effective communication to tell her clients’ story, using their voice. Elizabeth enjoys a multi-faceted practice, focusing predominantly in the professional liability arena, successfully defending healthcare professionals, lawyers, public officials and contractors before Louisiana courts and licensure boards — where their story not only matters, but makes a difference.
Elizabeth effectively and efficiently uses her clients’ voices to advocate on their behalf whether it is in response to a malpractice, employment or personal injury complaint and to tell a story that is not only defensible, but relatable. Elizabeth’s commitment to her clients extends beyond the claim and the courtroom, and she serves as a counselor whose primary goal is to foster a lasting relationship where she is always just a phone call away.
Serving as the first female City Attorney for the City of Mandeville, Elizabeth relies heavily on her extensive experience defending public entities to advise City officials concerning policy, open meetings, enforcement, contract procurement and negotiations, public records, land use, public works and employment, all of which requires a keen understanding of the needs and rights of the individuals and entities at play. Again, she listens, then helps to find a solution that squarely addresses the needs of the situation, which can be complex given the oft-competing needs of the public.
